What's not to love about this delightful hunk of bakelite? A wonderful fifties piece of space-age styling, these Cobramatics are fun. The speed changes are achieved by moving the ivory colored selector knob to the left or right, until one's ear determines the speed is correct. So hopefully you have a good ear.
There is a downside, and that is the cost and availability of needles, which are actually little cartridges and are the same as used in some jukeboxes, and they are no longer manufactured. So expect to pay $70 to $150 for a decent stylus, if you can find one. Three sizes were made - a green one for LPs and 45s (1 mil.), a red one for 78s (3 mil) and red and black for all speeds (2 mil). I do not recommend the latter as it will not improve the quality of your records!
