RUSTY ZINN'S LATEST - 'OH DARLING'

Rusty Zinn is one of those musicians, whether singing or playing the guitar, who has perfect pitch, perfect tone, and perfect taste.

Coming up in the blues world in the 1980s his tastes widened to include Jamaican music, and these days he is equally at home playing a blues festival in Europe or headling a big reggae show in Brazil, where he now lives.

His latest recording, ‘Oh Darling’, is a pre-release single for a full-length project that will be released later this year. It is on the Ilha Records label, located on the island of Sao Luis where he lives. It is currently available on all digital streaming and download platforms. The full release will be available as well on all of those platforms, and will also be pressed on a limited amount of vinyl LP's. The release is going to be titled "Roots And Romance". 

In a recent email, Rusty wrote me the following; “The song is my original composition, and I arranged,  produced and mixed it as well. Musicians are as follows: Vocals (including background harmonies, riddim and pluck guitars, tambourine: Yours Truly, Piano: Bob Welsh, Hammond B3 Organ and Moog Synthesizer: Kid Andersen, Bass: Kyle Jester, Drums: Andrew Gutterman. Recorded at Greaseland Studios!

I am really happy with this record label and everyone on staff there that I work along with. It comes with a recording studio, a promotion and marketing team and a booking agency as well. So far, besides the music video they did to promote the new single, we have also shot promotional videos. Some have been used, and some remain in the can for future promotion. The music video utilized a videographer that they flew up from Rio De Janeiro. The promotional videos are done by a local videographer in the studio and the sound is recorded by their audio engineer. We just recorded a feature interview with the biggest Radio/Television station in our state of Maranhao here, called Mirante FM which will be a featured podcast on many platforms. We also did a live radio interview that evening there. There will be at least one more music video created for the upcoming full-length release. There is also a couple of different television spots being secured for me to further promote the single and upcoming release.” 

Rusty already has a large following in Brazil - his ’She Comes From Nothing’ was a gigantic hit there not too long ago, and I am sure “Oh Darling’ will be just as successful.
