A gloriously basic table top multi-speed player from Columbia. No model number is to be found underneath - indeed, the only manufacturer info is the sticker on the front of the plinth. As Columbia was one of the two major players in the 'Battle of the Speeds', one has to figure this unit was made in the early fifties, after Columbia and its rival RCA, both adopted the 45 and 33 formats. This has a crystal cartridge, which miraculously still works. The stylus - which I have not measured - must be a 2 mil stylus, to play all speeds. And that is NOT a procedure I can recommend. The visible switch under the tonearm head is to activate the platter. I keep this player as a curio only ... not really the type of player one wants to play favortite discs on.
